Queen's Secretariat

The Secretary of Her Majesty the Queen is the Queen's principal direct collaborator. The secretary advises, coordinates and organizes her public agenda for both activities in Belgium and visits abroad. The Secretary consults with the Queen on a daily basis, manages the agenda, organizes audiences and meetings and prepares the Queen's speeches. The Secretary proposes, prepares and implements visits in the Queen's areas of interest. The Secretary follows the many honorary presidencies of the Queen and proposes actions within each domain.

The Secretary is assisted by a Chargé de mission to the Queen in the specific domain of the United Nations' development goals.

The Secretary coordinates the duties of the Queen’s Ladies in Waiting who are deployed according to a turn-based role.
